Key finding: At 44°C (common in NCR May–June), pot life drops by 55–80% across every product. Summer pours work best between 6–9 AM or in an AC-controlled room below 28°C. Never pour above 40°C ambient. Loctite 243 and Loctite 406 are one-part products — no mixing means no pot life, so the N/A columns list their fixture times at 22–25°C for reference.

Key finding: Humidity above 80% causes catastrophic failure across all products. Run a dehumidifier during the NCR monsoon (July–September). The ₹15,000 cloudy epoxy failure in our fix guide happened at 91% relative humidity.

Real story: One call I still remember — in July 2024 a contractor in Noida poured 9 m² of Flowtop during a week of 85% RH and it stayed tacky for six days. I told him to strip it and wait for October. We shipped a dehumidifier with the replacement kit, and that floor has cured hard for two years since.

What is the pot life of Bondone Clear Cast at 35°C?

180 minutes at 35°C — half the 370-minute pot life at 25°C. At 44°C it collapses to 60 minutes, so pour before 9 AM in NCR summers.

Does humidity above 80% cause epoxy failure?

Yes. Above 80% relative humidity, failure rates jump to 22–40% across all five tested products, versus under 2% below 60% RH.

Can I pour epoxy below 15°C?

No. Bondone Flowtop and Silcrete will not cure below 15°C, and Clear Cast takes 10–14 days. Wait for the March–April window instead.

What are the two best months to pour epoxy in NCR?

Questions buyers ask us

Why does epoxy get cloudy in NCR?

Humidity above 80% is the main cause. Clouding starts once relative humidity crosses 80%, and the failure rate jumps to 22–40% across all products. The worst case in our records was a ₹15,000 pour at 91% relative humidity.

How long does a 7.5kg Bondone Flowtop pack cover?

4–6 sqm at the recommended 1.5–2mm thickness, with a theoretical yield of 3.75 sqm at exactly 2mm.

Which products will not cure below 15°C?

Bondone Flowtop and Bondone Silcrete will not cure below 15°C. Clear Cast and Clearlam CC will cure but take 10–14 days, and the finish is poor below that temperature.

What is the best time of year to pour epoxy in NCR?

March–April and October–November. Temperatures sit in the 16–36°C range with 35–65% relative humidity, so every product performs optimally with minimal intervention.

Do you stock Loctite and Wacker products?

Yes. Loctite 243 threadlocker (₹531 / 50 ml) and Loctite 406 instant adhesive (₹234 / 20 ml) are one-part products — no mixing, so no pot life. Wacker Elastosil M 4511 (₹7,375 / 5.25 kg) is the RTV-2 silicone for flexible molds. All three ship PAN India from our Ghaziabad warehouse.

Pot life, full cure and viscosity across India's seasons

This section consolidates the temperature data formerly split across our temperature guide and this reference — full cure time, seasonal working strategies and how viscosity changes with the thermometer. As of August 2026 these are measured values from our Ghaziabad workshop and project sites across NCR.

Pot life by temperature lives in the master pot life table in section 01 above — 15 products across 25°C, 35°C, 40°C and 44°C. Key insight from that data: at 44°C, Flowtop pot life drops from 40 to 12 minutes — you lose most of your working time, so pour in the cool hours or in an AC-controlled room. Summer strategy (35–45°C) — India's peak epoxy season

Summer is the most challenging time for epoxy work in India. High temperatures accelerate curing dramatically. Here's what we've learned from 500+ projects:

Pour in cool hours

Ambient temperature is 5–10°C lower between 6–9 AM or after 6 PM. This single habit buys back more working time than any product change.

Use slow-cure products

Bondone Clear Cast (370 min pot life at 25°C) gives you the most working time. Avoid Flowtop or Lapox Ultra for large pours in summer.

Pour smaller batches

The exothermic reaction generates its own heat. A 2 kg batch generates less heat than a 10 kg batch, giving you more working time.

Store epoxy below 30°C

Direct sunlight in a Delhi summer can heat resin to 50°C — that batch will cure in the cup before you pour it. Keep bottles in the shade.

Manage bubbles

At high temperatures epoxy is thinner and releases bubbles faster, but trapped bubbles also expand more. Use a torch immediately after pouring.

Winter North India strategy (5–20°C)

Delhi NCR winters (December–February) bring their own challenges. At 10–15°C, epoxy becomes thick as honey and cures at a glacial pace. Full cure for Clear Cast can take 10–14 days instead of 7.

Warm the bottles

Place resin and hardener in a water bath at 25–30°C for 20 minutes before mixing. This restores proper viscosity and working time.

Use a space heater

Keep the workspace at 20–25°C for the first 24 hours after pouring. Cold slows the chemical reaction significantly.

Never add extra hardener

A common mistake. Adding more hardener does not speed up cold curing — it ruins the ratio and creates brittle epoxy.

Expect longer demold time

At 15°C, wait 48–72 hours before demolding. At 25°C, 24 hours is usually enough.

Watch for condensation

When you bring cold epoxy into a warm room, moisture condenses on the surface. Wipe the surface dry before pouring.

Temperature's effect on viscosity

Epoxy resin is temperature-sensitive even before mixing. Match the viscosity to the job and most pour problems disappear.

Cold — honey consistency

At 15°C, Bondone Clear Cast is thick and difficult to pour, prone to trapping bubbles. Warm both bottles first.

Warm — water-like flow

At 35°C it flows like water. Warmer epoxy (30–35°C) gives better bubble release for thin pours, jewellery and small castings.

Sweet spot — deep pours

For deep pours like river tables, 25–30°C gives the best balance of flow and working time. This is the range we aim for every time.

Shelf life, storage rules and warning signs for Indian conditions

Heat, humidity and monsoon moisture decide how long your resin and hardener stay usable. Get storage wrong and a premium kit can fail before you open the lid. As of August 2026, these are the shelf life numbers printed on every kit we ship from Ghaziabad.

Key insight: Hardener is the shelf-life bottleneck. If a kit sits unused for a year, the hardener — not the resin — decides whether it is still usable. Hardeners always degrade faster; moisture and heat are the enemies.

Signs your epoxy has gone bad

Cloudy or milky hardener

Moisture contamination. Do not use it — it will never cure properly.

Dark brown hardener

Normal aging if it was light amber. Test on a small batch before the real pour.

Solid chunks in hardener

The hardener has expired. Discard the whole kit.

Resin crystallisation

Solid, wax-like resin is reversible — warm to 30°C in a water bath and stir until clear.

Separation in resin

An oil-like layer on top. Stir thoroughly; if it will not remix, discard it.

Ammonia smell

A strong ammonia odour from the hardener means it has degraded beyond use.

Thick, honey-like hardener

Evaporation or moisture absorption. If it is hard to pour, discard it.

Six storage rules for Indian conditions

Store below 30°C

Keep kits in an air-conditioned room or the coolest corner of the workshop.

Seal airtight after opening

Squeeze the air out of the hardener bottle before you reseal it.

Add silica gel packs

Drop one into the storage box to absorb moisture.

Store bottles upright

Prevents leaks and keeps the cap sealed clean.

Label with the open date

Discard hardener after 6 months and resin after 12 months from opening.

Avoid temperature swings

Thermal cycling causes condensation inside the bottles.

Can you use expired epoxy?

Resin 1–6 months past expiry

Usually fine. Stir thoroughly and test on a small surface first.

Hardener 1–3 months past expiry

May work with longer cure times. If it is cloudy, discard it.

Both expired 6+ months

Replace both. The chemical balance shifts and results become unpredictable.

Structural projects

Never use expired epoxy where strength matters — it may be compromised.
