Bondone Bristle Grip A — Epoxy Bonding System for Brush Manufacturing & Metal Bonding

Bristle Grip A is a specialised low-viscosity epoxy bonding system from DCM Shriram's Bondone range, designed primarily for paint brush manufacturing. If you make brushes, you know the problem: the ferrule has to hold the bristles through years of solvent exposure, bending, and abuse. Bristle Grip A solves that with a 100:10 mix ratio, 300-500 mPa·s viscosity that penetrates deep into bristle bundles, and excellent solvent resistance that survives thinner washes. It also works for metal-to-metal and metal-to-non-metal bonding where a low-viscosity, high-strength epoxy bond is needed. The 5.5 kg kit (5 kg resin + 0.5 kg hardener) is ₹2,537 from our Ghaziabad warehouse as of July 2026. Larger 33 kg packs also available on request.

Bondone Bristle Grip A — Key Facts at a Glance

How much does Bondone Bristle Grip A cost?

₹2,537 per 5.5 kg kit (₹461 per kg). Includes 5 kg resin + 0.5 kg hardener in correct 100:10 ratio. PAN India shipping from Ghaziabad.

What is Bristle Grip A used for?

Paint brush ferrule fixing and metal bonding. The low viscosity (300-500 mPa·s) penetrates bristle bundles for deep ferrule adhesion, and the cured epoxy resists thinners and solvents used in brush cleaning during manufacturing.

What Is Bondone Bristle Grip A?

Bondone Bristle Grip A is a two-component, low-viscosity, modified epoxy bonding system manufactured by Hindusthan Speciality Chemicals Ltd (DCM Shriram Group). It belongs to the Bondone range of industrial epoxy adhesives. Its primary application is in paint brush manufacturing, where it is used to fix the ferrule (the metal band) to the bristle bundle. The low viscosity is the key feature — at 300-500 mPa·s, the epoxy penetrates deep into the bristles before curing, creating a mechanical lock that prevents the ferrule from slipping off during use.

Beyond brush manufacturing, Bristle Grip A is used for general metal-to-metal and metal-to-non-metal bonding. Its solvent resistance makes it suitable for applications where the bonded joint will be exposed to thinners, cleaning agents, or industrial solvents. If you manufacture paint brushes, industrial brushes, or need a low-viscosity epoxy for precision bonding of metal components, Bristle Grip A is the formulation you need.

Best Applications

Paint Brush Ferrule Fixing

Primary use case. The low-viscosity epoxy penetrates deep into the bristle bundle before curing, locking the ferrule in place. Solvent resistance ensures brushes survive thinner cleaning during production and by end users.

Metal-to-Metal Bonding

Bonds metal components where a thin, penetrating epoxy layer is needed. Suitable for small metal parts, fixtures, and assemblies that require mechanical strength and solvent resistance.

Metal-to-Non-Metal Bonding

Bonds metal to plastics, wood, ceramics, and other substrates. The low viscosity allows the epoxy to wet both surfaces thoroughly for maximum adhesion.

Industrial Brush Manufacturing

Suitable for all types of industrial brushes beyond paint brushes — including wire brushes, cleaning brushes, and specialised application brushes where ferrule-to-bristle bond integrity is critical.

How to Use Bondone Bristle Grip A

1. Surface preparation: The base surface (wooden handle, bristle bundle, or metal component) must be clean, dry, and free from dust, oil, grease, and other contaminants.

2. Mixing: Weigh resin and hardener at 100:10 by weight — the low hardener content means accuracy is critical. Mix gently to avoid bubble formation. If required, mineral filler can be added to the resin in appropriate quantity before adding hardener.

3. Application for brush manufacturing: Place bristles in the ferrule, add the mixed epoxy resin-hardener mixture, and allow to set for 10-12 hours. The low viscosity will penetrate the bristle bundle, creating a deep mechanical lock.

4. Application for metal bonding: Apply the mixed epoxy to both surfaces, join them, and apply contact pressure using a suitable fixture. Optimum layer thickness is 0.1 to 0.2 mm.

5. Curing: Allow to dry for 24 hours for optimum results. Note that after mixing, the colour of the mixture will change over time — this is a normal phenomenon and does not affect properties.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Bondone Bristle Grip A used for?

Bondone Bristle Grip A is a low-viscosity epoxy bonding system with two primary applications. First, in paint brush manufacturing for fixing ferrule to bristles. Second, for metal-to-metal and metal-to-non-metal bonding where solvent resistance and mechanical strength are required.

What is the mix ratio of Bristle Grip A?

The mix ratio is 100:10 by weight (Resin : Hardener). Use a digital scale for accuracy — the low hardener content means small errors significantly affect curing.

What is the pot life of Bristle Grip A?

Pot life is 25-35 minutes at 25°C for a 100g mass. At higher temperatures, pot life shortens. Mix only what you can apply within 20 minutes in hot conditions.

What bond strength does Bristle Grip A achieve?

Minimum 60 kg/cm² at 25°C after 24 hours of cure. Full strength and solvent resistance develop over 7 days.

Is Bristle Grip A solvent resistant?

Yes, Bristle Grip A offers excellent solvent resistance, which is critical for paint brush manufacturing where brushes are cleaned with thinners and solvents during production.

What is the price of Bristle Grip A 5.5kg?

The 5.5kg kit (5kg resin + 0.5kg hardener) is priced at ₹2,537 (₹461 per kg). Contact us on WhatsApp at +91 8595955752 for stock availability.

How is Bristle Grip A different from regular Bristle Grip?

Bristle Grip A is a lower-viscosity (300-500 mPa·s) modified version of the standard Bristle Grip (650-850 mPa·s). The lower viscosity allows better penetration into bristle bundles and easier mixing. Both use a 100:10 ratio but Bristle Grip A has a shorter pot life (25-35 min vs 40-55 min) and lower bond strength (60 vs 80 kg/cm²).
