Bondone ClearLam CC — High-Gloss Bar Top & Countertop Resin
ClearLam CC is the bar top specialist. I've supplied it to restaurants in Connaught Place, cafes in Hauz Khas, home bars in Gurgaon. It's not for deep pours — it's for thin, glossy surface coats that need to survive daily wiping, spilled drinks, and hot coffee cups. A restaurant owner in CP called me last year. His bartop was peeling after 6 months of service. He'd used a generic clear epoxy from Amazon. We stripped it and applied ClearLam CC. Two years later, still glossy. Still intact. The difference is in the formulation — ClearLam is designed for surface contact, not deep casting.
What is ClearLam CC?
ClearLam CC is a two-component, clear epoxy laminating resin specifically formulated for thin, high-gloss surface coatings. Unlike deep-casting epoxies that can pour inches thick, ClearLam CC excels at 1–2 mm applications, delivering a flawless, glass-like finish that bonds aggressively to wood, concrete, stone, and existing laminates.
I've seen too many DIYers buy a deep-pour resin for their kitchen countertop and end up with a sticky, uneven mess. That's because those resins are too thick and generate too much heat in thin layers. ClearLam CC self-levels perfectly in thin coats, cures crystal clear, and handles the wear-and-tear of a working bar or serving counter.
Technical Specifications
Mix Ratio
2:1 (100:50 by weight). Use a digital scale — guessing by volume leads to soft spots or sticky patches.
Pot Life
45–60 minutes at 25°C. That's enough to work a standard bar top if you move quickly. In summer, pot life drops to ~35 min — so work in smaller batches.
Curing Schedule
Ambient cure: tack-free in 4–6 hours. For full hardness, oven cure at 60–70°C for 30 minutes. Oven curing is recommended for commercial applications — bars, cafes, restaurant counters — where maximum hardness is needed faster.
Heat Resistance
80°C continuous. Hot coffee mugs, plates straight from the microwave — no problem. I've tested it with a boiling kettle base (not recommended, but survived).
Surface Hardness
2H pencil hardness after 7 days full cure. This means keys, cutlery, and daily wiping won't leave micro-scratches like softer 4B epoxies.

ClearLam CC vs Clear Cast — Which for Your Project?
I get this question daily: "Jobin, should I use ClearLam or Clear Cast for my bar top?" The answer depends on thickness. Here's the simple rule:
| Feature | ClearLam CC | Clear Cast |
|---|---|---|
| Pour depth | 1–2 mm (thin coat) | 5 mm to 3+ inches |
| Best for | Surface laminating, bar tops, countertops | River tables, deep casting, jewellery |
| Pot life | 45–60 min | 300–370 min (5–6 hours) |
| Cure (full hardness) | Oven 60–70°C / 30 min | 72 hours ambient |
| Self-leveling | Excellent for thin films | Designed for mass pours |
| Heat resistance | 80°C | 65°C |
For deep pours, see Clear Cast. If you're topping an existing surface with a 1mm glass coat, ClearLam CC is the tool. If you're filling a 2-inch void, ClearLam will overheat and crack. I've lost ₹1,200 learning that lesson in 2018 — trust me on this.

ClearLam CC — Frequently Asked Questions
What is the mix ratio of Bondone ClearLam CC?
2:1 (100:50 by weight). Use a digital scale; volumetric errors will ruin the cure.
What is the pot life after mixing?
45–60 minutes at 25°C. In hot conditions, pot life shortens — mix only what you can apply in 30 minutes.
Can ClearLam CC be used for deep pours like river tables?
No. It's formulated for thin surface coats only (1-2mm). Deep pours require Bondone Clear Cast.
How heat resistant is ClearLam CC?
It withstands temperatures up to 80°C. Hot beverages, warm plates — safe. Do not place oven-hot pans directly.
Is it scratch resistant?
Yes, 2H pencil hardness. It resists daily cutlery scratches and cleaning abrasion much better than generic art resins.
How much area does 1.5 kg cover?
Approximately 70 square feet at the recommended 1mm thickness. Thicker coats reduce coverage linearly.
Is ClearLam CC food-safe after curing?
Fully cured (7 days) it's inert and safe for incidental food contact. Not rated for direct food preparation.
How do I clean and maintain the surface?
Wipe with mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive pads. Occasional polishing with a non-abrasive epoxy wax keeps the gloss.
