Bondone Flowtop — Self-Levelling Epoxy Floor Coating
Flowtop is the workhorse of industrial flooring. I've supplied it to over 200 projects since 2016 — warehouses in Okhla, showrooms in Gurgaon, hospital corridors in Delhi. It self-levels, which means you pour it and it finds its own flat surface. But here's what most people get wrong: they think 'self-levelling' means 'pour and forget.' It doesn't. You still need a primer, surface prep, and back-rolling for even thickness. A contractor in Pune skipped the primer last year. The epoxy peeled in 3 weeks. 800 sq.m. ₹1.5 lakh to fix. Surface prep isn't optional.
What is Flowtop?
Bondone Flowtop is a two-component, self-levelling epoxy floor coating designed for commercial and industrial spaces. It creates a seamless, glossy, easy-to-clean finish on concrete. Unlike heavy screeds, Flowtop pours as a liquid and levels itself to a smooth, uniform surface — but only if the substrate is properly primed and the material is back-rolled immediately after pouring.
In practical terms, self-levelling means you don't need a trowel to distribute it; you pour ribbons and use a roller to push it around. The chemistry does the flattening. The result is a floor that can handle pallet jacks, heavy foot traffic, and occasional vehicle movement. It's not for chemical plants — for that, use Silcrete.
Technical Specifications
Mix Ratio
2:1 by weight (Resin : Hardener). Use a digital scale — guessing by volume leads to soft, uncured spots.
Pot Life
30–40 minutes at 25°C. In Indian summers, this can drop to 20 minutes. Always mix small batches and work with a crew of at least two people.
Coverage
4–6 sq.m per kg at 1mm. For a 2mm coat, coverage halves. A 7.5kg kit covers roughly 30–45 sq.m at 1mm.
Cure Schedule
Light foot traffic: 24 hours. Heavy machinery: 72 hours. Full chemical resistance: 7 days. Keep area above 15°C during cure.
Coverage Calculator
Here's the simple math I send to every contractor:
- 1 mm thick × 100 sq.m = 20 kg Flowtop
- 2 mm thick × 100 sq.m = 40 kg Flowtop
- 2 mm thick × 500 sq.m = 200 kg Flowtop
- 1 mm thick × 500 sq.m = 100 kg Flowtop
Always account for 5% waste for spillage and undulated concrete. I recommend ordering an extra 5kg drum to be safe. Bulk drums of 30kg and 200kg are available for large projects — WhatsApp for contractor rates.
Flowtop Price Per Kg & Per Sq Ft 2026
7.5 kg Kit
₹3,835
Price per kg: ₹511.33
At 1mm thickness: ₹85–₹128 per sq.m (material only).
Bulk Drums
5kg, 12kg, 30kg, 200kg drums available. Bulk pricing reduces per-kg cost. Call or WhatsApp for a quote — I customise based on project area and location.
Flowtop vs Silcrete — Which Floor Coating?
| Feature | Flowtop | Silcrete |
|---|---|---|
| Best use | Warehouses, showrooms, garages, hospital corridors | Pharma plants, battery rooms, chemical storage |
| Chemical resistance | Moderate — spills should be cleaned promptly | High — withstands acids, alkalis, solvents |
| Pot life | 30–40 min | 40–50 min |
| Price (7.5kg) | ₹3,835 | ₹3,610 |
For chemical areas, use Silcrete. Flowtop is the choice when you need a durable, glossy floor that handles daily business operations.
How to Apply Flowtop — Basic Guide
I walk every first-time buyer through this. Here's the workflow that has worked for 200+ projects:
- Surface Prep: Grind or shot-blast the concrete to open pores. Repair cracks with epoxy putty. Clean thoroughly — no dust, oil, or moisture. Moisture content must be below 4%.
- Primer: Apply a coat of Bondone epoxy primer by roller. Let it cure 12–24 hours. This seals the concrete and prevents pinholes.
- Mix: Measure resin and hardener in a 2:1 ratio by weight. Mix with a low-speed drill (300–400 RPM) for 3–4 minutes. Scrape the sides. Transfer to a clean bucket and mix again for 1 minute.
- Pour & Back-Roll: Pour ribbons across the floor. Immediately back-roll with a medium-nap roller to push the epoxy evenly. Work in sections — you have 30–40 minutes before it thickens.
- Cure: Keep the floor dust-free and cordoned off. Light use after 24 hours. No water exposure until 48 hours. Heavy loads after 72 hours.
Pro tip: I send a free surface-prep checklist with every Flowtop order. Just ask on WhatsApp.

What is the mix ratio of Bondone Flowtop?
2:1 by weight (resin to hardener). Use a digital scale; guessing leads to soft floors.
What is the coverage per kg?
4–6 sq.m at 1mm thickness. For 2mm, it's approximately 2–3 sq.m per kg.
Can Flowtop be used in chemical storage areas?
No, Flowtop is for general industrial/commercial floors. For chemical plants, Bondone Silcrete is the right product.
Do I need a primer before applying Flowtop?
Yes, absolutely. The primer seals the concrete and prevents adhesion failure. Skipping it is the #1 cause of peeling.
How long does it take to dry?
Light foot traffic after 24 hours, heavy machinery after 72 hours. Full cure for chemical exposure in 7 days.
What is the pot life of Flowtop?
30–40 minutes at 25°C. In hot conditions, it shortens significantly — mix only what you can apply in 20 minutes.
Is Flowtop self-levelling?
Yes, it flows to a flat finish, but you still need to back-roll immediately after pouring to ensure even thickness and remove trapped air.
Can I apply Flowtop over old tiles?
Only if the tiles are mechanically abraded and primed. Concrete is always the best substrate. Contact us for a technical consultation.
