What is Lapox Fillo used for?
Lapox Fillo is a high-viscosity epoxy filler used for joint filling in flooring, potting small electronic components, and bonding wood, glass, metals, and natural stone. Its thixotropic formula stays in place on vertical and overhead surfaces without sagging, making it ideal for vertical repairs and gap filling where standard epoxy would drip or run off.
Product Description
Lapox Fillo is a two-component modified thixotropic epoxy adhesive system manufactured by Atul Ltd. When mixed in the recommended 100:80 ratio and cured at room temperature, it delivers excellent bond strength across a wide range of substrates including glass, metals, reactive plastics, wood, textile, and natural stones. Unlike low-viscosity epoxy resins that flow freely, Fillo stays exactly where you apply it, making it the preferred choice for joint filling, gap bridging, and vertical repairs in both industrial and DIY settings.
Its high viscosity and thixotropic nature make it ideal for vertical and overhead applications where standard epoxy would sag or drip. Curing can be accelerated at 40–60°C for faster productivity, reducing turnaround time for production environments. Optimum bond strength is achieved with heat curing at controlled temperatures.
Lapox Fillo is part of our epoxy resin India range and is also used in epoxy flooring India applications as a joint filler.

How to Use Lapox Fillo
1. Surface Preparation
Degrease surfaces thoroughly with toluene, acetone, or trichloroethylene. Abrade with coarse emery paper or chemically etch for maximum strength. Inadequately prepared surfaces will not bond satisfactorily.
2. Mixing
Mix resin and hardener in a 100:80 ratio by weight. Stir thoroughly until a uniform colour is achieved. Use within the pot life of 65–85 minutes at 25°C. For larger mixes, pot life reduces due to exotherm.
3. Application
Apply the mixed adhesive by brush or spatula to the prepared surface. For joint filling, overfill slightly and sand after cure. The thixotropic nature keeps the material in place on vertical surfaces without sagging.
4. Curing
Cure at room temperature for 24 hours for handling strength. Full mechanical strength develops over 7 days. For faster cure, apply heat at 40–60°C. Surface dry occurs in 70–90 minutes at 25°C (200 micron film).
5. Sanding & Finishing
For wood applications, sanding is possible after 3–4 hours at 28°C using 100-grit emery paper. Clean tools with acetone before the material cures.
Storage & Shelf Life
Store in a cool, dry place between 2°C and 40°C. Keep containers tightly sealed when not in use. Do not expose to direct sunlight or humidity. Shelf life is 1 year in original sealed containers. If crystallisation occurs in the resin, warm gently to 40–50°C and stir before use.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Lapox Fillo suitable for vertical surfaces?
Yes. Lapox Fillo is thixotropic, meaning it stays in place on vertical and overhead surfaces without sagging or dripping. This makes it ideal for wall joints, vertical crack filling, and overhead repairs.
What is the difference between Lapox Fillo and Lapox Ultra?
Lapox Fillo is a high-viscosity thixotropic filler for joint filling, potting, and gap bonding. Lapox Ultra is a low-viscosity laminating resin for jewellery, casting, and precision coatings. Fillo is for thick applications; Ultra is for thin, clear pours.
Can I use Lapox Fillo for electronics potting?
Yes. Lapox Fillo has good electrical insulating properties and is suitable for potting small electronic components. Ensure components are clean and dry before potting.
How long does Lapox Fillo take to cure?
Surface dry in 70–90 minutes, hard dry in 270–290 minutes at 25°C. Handling strength after 24 hours. Full mechanical strength after 7 days. Heat curing at 40–60°C accelerates the process.
